Jonathan “Jonny D.” Defibaugh

Jonathan “Jonny D.” Defibaugh is a Parkersburg, West Virginia–based media and operations professional whose work spans video production, photography, business development, commercial property operations and original creative development.

Defibaugh began his professional media career in local television, where he worked for 11 years. In 2011, he founded MOVID Studios, an independent production company specializing in commercial video, cinematography, photography, documentary production and visual storytelling. Through MOVID, he has worked with businesses, healthcare organizations, civic initiatives and community groups, frequently carrying projects from initial strategy and concept development through production, editing and final delivery.

Since 2016, Defibaugh has also helped lead the redevelopment and operation of St. Joseph Landing, a roughly 800,000-square-foot, seven-building former hospital campus in Parkersburg. His responsibilities have included tenant and lease negotiations, budgeting, vendor and contract management, infrastructure planning, building systems, capital projects, regulatory coordination and the practical day-to-day work required to maintain and reposition a complex commercial property.

Alongside his professional and operational work, Defibaugh develops original creative properties, including Rising Dawn, FRAYALITY and Legends of the Veil. These projects combine writing, visual design, worldbuilding, game development, digital publishing and emerging production technology.

His professional strength is the ability to connect strategy with execution. He is most effective in complicated or resource-constrained projects that require someone to understand the larger system, make practical decisions, solve problems directly and move an idea through to a finished result.
